Person Centred Therapy
Many come to therapy as a result of historic wounds and trauma.
We were not valued enough in our early lives and learnt faulty ways of coping. Unconditional love is lacking which we need to thrive.
The Person Centred Approach puts the valuing and prizing of the client at the forefront of the therapy. One way of coping with being let down is by cutting ourselves off or dissociating. We need to reconnect to ourselves and others.
The Person Centred approach views client and therapist as equals but travelling together in a direction of growth.
The above are very brief outlines of the 3 main schools of therapy. Many therapists work with a combination or Integratively. Like most relationships it is the “click” with the therapist which is important to good outcomes.
Our therapists also offer a range of technology mediated sessions such as SKYPE and E mail.
