Psychodynamic Therapy

We often get into patterns of behaviour that are repetitious but also damaging and limiting.

Psychodynamic Therapy gets below the surface and looks at conscious and unconscious components to behaviours.

The Ice Berg metaphor is often used where the top part is considered the conscious component and the unconscious represented by the ice under the water. Our relationships often trigger unconscious components in our personalities.

Generally a longer term therapy with close emphasis on working with your therapist collaboratively or in what is known as a Therapeutic Alliance.
